
The Trigg County Lady Wildcats took to the road Thursday for preseason softball as they met up with the Graves County Lady Eagles. The two teams played ten innings with the Lady Eagles outscoring the Lady Wildcats 14-5.
However, the scrimmage was 5-4 after what would have been the regulation seven innings. Graves County scored 7 of their runs in their 9th at-bat of the scrimmage.
Kiley Slone led the Lady Wildcats at the plate with two hits. Six other Lady Wildcats had one hit each. MaKenna Hendricks was 1 of 4 with 3 RBIs for the day.
Trigg County scored first to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. The Lady Wildcats scored twice more in the top of the second, but Graves County got those two runs back in the bottom of the inning to make it 3-2.
The Lady Eagles pushed three runs across the plate in the bottom of the sixth to get to the lead at 5-3. Trigg came back with one run in the top half of the 7th. The Lady Wildcats evened the score with another run in the 8th. The Lady Eagles then finished out the scrimmage strong with 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th and then the 7-run outburst in the ninth.
Tember Oliver gave the Lady Wildcats three strong innings in the circle. She gave up two runs, both of which were unearned, on two hits, striking out four, while walking one.
