Crittenden County sophomore guard Anna Boone has been named the 2nd Region Basketball Coaches Association 2023-24 Girls’ Player of the Year.

Boone was presented her award following the championship game of the regional tournament Saturday night at Trigg County High School.

Boone scored 22 points a game and grabbed 5.5 rebounds a contest this season to help the Lady Rockets go 19-14 and win the 2nd Region All A Classic championship.

She had 23 points in Crittenden’s 56-53 opening-round win over Lexington Christian. Boone also scored her 1,000th career point in that contest.

The Lady Rockets fell to Pikeville in the quarterfinals in Corbin.

Boone had 27 points but Crittenden fell to Lyon County 77-74 in the 5th District championship game.

She had 21 points in a first-round loss to Henderson County in the 2nd Region tournament this past week.

For the season, Boone shot 42 percent from 3-point range and connected on 80.2 percent of her free throw attempts.

She had a 37-point performance in February as Crittenden knocked off Madisonville-North Hopkins 70-65.

Boone is the second-straight Lady Rocket to be named Player of the Year.

Taylor Guess, now at Lindsey Wilson College, earned the honor last season.

Crittenden County’s Anna Boone was presented her 2nd Region Player of the Year award by Trigg County athletic director Doug Gloyd Saturday night in Cadiz.
