Trigg Girls Finish Fifth at Region Archery, Ives Qualifies for State

The Trigg County girls’ archery team finished in fifth place at the KHSAA Region 1 Tournament on Saturday in Henderson.

Aurora Ives shot a 285 to finish in second place and automatically qualified for next month’s state tournament.

Ives finished five points behind the region winner, Hickman County’s Cora Clark, and was a personal best score for the Trigg County senior.

Madisonville’s Addie Burns shot a 285 to finish in fourth place and also qualified for the state tournament.

Alessia Sbracia shot a 274 to finish in 26th place, and Mackenzie Cooper shot a 271 to finish in 30th place.

Other scorers for Trigg County were Makenna Southwick (269-42nd place), Madison Fears (268-46th place), Kerra Johnson (268-47th place), Devin Mackey (267-49th place), Piper Mackey (266-56th place), Kat Tellez (259-72nd place), Serena Hanson (120-127th place).

Trigg County shot a team total of 1,902, which was 38 points behind region champion Henderson County. Calloway County scored 1,933 points to finish second. Both Henderson County and Calloway County’s teams along with Clark, Ives, and Burns will advance to the KHSAA State Archery Tournament on April 16 in Lexington.
