Heritage Christian Academy opened the 2024 softball season with a tidy 15-0 shoutout of Dawson Springs on Tuesday.
The Lady Warriors took advantage of 10 walks and 10 hit batters to score the three-inning win in the first game for new coach Ashley Tejada.
Layton Weeks had a two-run single for HCA, and Kennedy Hughes and Kailyn Johnson also had singles for the Lady Warriors.
Hughes also pitched a no-hitter for HCA, striking out five and walking none.
Heritage Christian Academy closed out its tenure in the Kentucky Christian Athletic Association with a state championship last year and is playing a full KHSAA schedule for the first time this year although they are not competing at the district level.
Heritage Christian Academy, who improved to 3-0 all-time against Dawson Springs, returns to the diamond Thursday at home against Fort Campbell.
