Jace Blue suffered a life-threatening asthma attack in 2020 that led to a scary cardiac arrest. He spent weeks in the hospital until doctors determined Jace had Delayed Posthypoxic Leukoencephalapothy – a rare condition that follows a brain incident where a lack of oxygen was present. The condition is common among those people who suffer from carbon monoxide poisoning.

From there, Jace underwent rehabilitation at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, a facility that specializes in treatment for acquired brain injuries and other neuromuscular problems.

Jace was a member of the Junior Beta Club and a student at the Gateway Academy for gifted students and relearned to speak and move independently.

Now a sophomore, Jace is a member of the Christian County High baseball team — something he had envisioned since his early travel ball days.

In two games this season, Jace has scored two runs. In Tuesday’s win over Fort Campbell, Jace scored from third base on a single off the bat of Ty Grace.
