
Union County has retaken the lead in the all-time series with Caldwell County.
The Braves picked up a 5-2 win over the Tigers Tuesday at the VFW Ballpark in Princeton. It was Union’s third-straight win over Caldwell, giving the Braves a 28-27 advantage all-time.
Union’s Brady Greenwell struck out six and gave up just one hit over the first four innings to pitch the Braves to the victory.
Logan Hall tossed the final three innings to earn the save, allowing just one base hit.
The Braves never trailed, scoring twice in the top of the first inning and leading 4-2 through three innings.
Garrett Shouse was 2-for-3 with an RBI while Tate Nobles went 2-for-4 and drove in a run for Union.
Carter Whittington and Cole Slone each had singles for Caldwell.
Ari Wells suffered the pitching loss for the Tigers. He went the first four innings, allowing two earned runs on just two base hits. Wells struck out seven but walked five.
Caldwell returns to action on Thursday when it visits Trigg County.
