She has been outstanding on the volleyball court throughout her career for the Christian County Lady Colonels, but Rylee Owens is exceptional beyond her talents on the court. It is the combination of her athletic skills, academics, and more that has her joining the club of Chick-fil-A ‘Triple A’ honorees.

Rylee is at the top, not only in volleyball, but in academics, and has the ‘numbers’ to back it up. She currently holds a 4.3 GPA, which has her ranked Top 5 in her class and that is a ranking well worth being proud of. She has taken several AP classes throughout high school and is currently enrolled in the Dual Credit program at Hopkinsville Community College and plans to graduate high school with a year of college already complete.

Riley is involved with the Gifted and Talented program and is EOPA-certified in Administration Support and Marketing. Pretty impressive indeed.

With her academic efforts, Riley is a member of the National Honor Society. She serves as Treasurer and has also rung the bell for the Salvation Army at Christmas, and donated items for Bingo at the Senior Center.

Not only is she leading the way in the classroom, Rylee is also one of the leaders in her school community. Involved with the Future Business Leaders of America, she is Treasurer of the club and helps organize and run several events for the community. The most recent was their Valentine’s Day Festival, where the students planned, gathered materials, received donations, decorated, and executed the event.

In FBLA competition, Rylee placed 1st in Spreadsheet Applications in 2023 and placed 2nd in Spreadsheet Applications this year. Both times qualified her for the State Conference.

She is a member of the Beta Club and provides several donations for different events, such as the Salvation Army, Angel Tree, and other community service projects.

And the list of activities does not stop there. Rylee is a part of the Women’s Powerlifting team at Christian County High School, a Social Media Brand Ambassador for Bella Marie Boutique, coaches a 13u volleyball team for VAPR, and attends New Barren Springs Baptist Church.

Riley adds that when she is not focusing on school or volleyball, she enjoys “dirt car racing with my friends and family. I also like to go work with my dad at his construction company. One of my possible career options is to take over his business, so this is a perfect opportunity. I like to run different types of equipment and learn all there is to my family business.”

As for her future, “I am undecided about my plans after high school. I have considered accounting, dental school, or taking over my family business.”

One thing we know is that whatever she wants to do, she will do it well.

Oh, and by the way, she is a two-time winner of a YourSportsEdge.Com Fan Faves award.

Quite exceptional she is, and that is why Rylee Owens is a Chick-fil-A ‘Triple A.’
