It was a case of the number of hits in the game not telling the story. The Christian County Colonels doubled up on the Daviess County Panthers Friday evening in terms of hits but ended up losing to the Panthers 7-5 as Daviess County found a way to put runs on the board.

The two teams battled through three scoreless innings before Christian County broke the ice with a trio of runs in the top of the fourth. The Colonels loaded the bases on a walk to Aiden Lewis, a single by Gage Montes, and a single by Preston Phan.

Lewis scored on a passed ball and then Blake Boehman came up with a two-run single to give Christian County a 3-0 lead.

Daviess came back in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game by scoring a run on a sac fly, an error, and a ground out.

Aiden Lews put the Colonels back on top with an RBI single scoring Sebastian Dazey in the top of the 5th to make it 4-3.

The Panthers scored four runs in the bottom of the inning, two of them coming on a passed ball and a wild pitch. Noah Ranburger had the big hit in the inning with an RBI double as Daviess County to a 7-4 lead.

The Colonels added a run in the top of the 7th on a Daviess County miscue, but that would be the end of any rally for the night.

Daviess County picked up the win despite being outhit 10 to 5.

Gage Montes was 3-4 for the Colonels win a run scored. Aiden Lewis went 2-3 with an RBI and run scored. Blake Boehman was 2-3 with 2 RBIs. Sebastian Dazey also had two hits and scored a pair of runs.
