Caldwell County Track Teams Take First Night Invite

Caldwell County’s track teams rolled to team wins in their own First Night Invite competition Saturday at Tiger Stadium.

Caldwell’s girls totaled 181.5 points to claim the six-team event. Trigg was a distant second at 83 points. Crittenden County took third with 82.5, followed by Todd County Central with 8 1points, Dawson Springs with 38 and Hopkins County Central with 37.

For the boys, Caldwell had 157 points to outdistance second-place Trigg’s 93 points. Hopkins Central was third with 75 points, followed by Todd County Central with 73, Dawson Springs with 71 and Crittenden County with 29.

For Caldwell’s girls, Avery Wells took first in both the 200-meter dash (28.09 seconds) and the long jump (14 feet, 3 inches).

Kyndle Mahaffey won the 100-meter dash wheelchair event in 34.04 seconds.

Ava Pickett was first in the 300-meter hurdles in 53.26 seconds.

Addison Middleton-Mobley took the triple jump competition at 29 feet.

The 4×100-meter relay team of Chevy McGowan, Avery Wells, Mariah Merritt and Addison Middleton-Mobley was first in 54.87seconds.

The 4×200 relay squad of Haley Dalton, Med Thomas, Ava Pickett and Avery Wells took first in 1:56.70.

The 4×400 relay team of Haley Dalton, Jordan Ortt, Mariah Merritt and Med Thomas placed first in 5:08.77.

The Lady Tiger 4×800 relay team of Mariah Merritt, Med Thomas, Jordan Ortt and Breana Solis-Marroquin was first in 12:48.33.

Runners-up for Caldwell’s girls included Med Thomas in the 400-meter dash (1:08.22), Ava Pickett in the 100-meter hurdles (19.35 seconds) and the high jump (8 feet), Benashka Thomas in the triple jump (28 feet, 9 inches), and Keirli Herran in both the shot put (26 feet, 4 inches) and discus (85 feet, 11 inches).

For Caldwell’s guys, Shane Fairrow was first in the 100-meter dash in 11.55 seconds and the 200-meter dash in 23.44 seconds.

Max Heaton won the 300-meter hurdles in 46 seconds and also took the triple jump at 38 feet, 8 inches.

The Tiger 4×100-meter relay team of Gus Fox, Tre Copeland, Luke Maddox and Shane Fairrow was first in 46.66 seconds.

The 4×200 team of Jackson Risley, Tre Copeland, Xzavier Lee and Shane Fairrow was first in 1:37.93.

Caldwell won the 4×400 relay competition with the team of Tre Copeland, Timothy Nichols, Xzavier Lee and Max Heaton in 3:57.64.

Runners-up for the Tigers included Jackson Risley in the high jump at 5 feet, 2 inches, Max Heaton in the long jump at 17 feet, 5 inches, and Cooper Mobley in both the shot put (45 feet, 9 inches) and discus (132 feet, 1.5 inches).

Caldwell’s track teams will compete in the Invitational of the South at Marshall County next Saturday.
