Hoptown Takes Second Place in Season Opener at Henderson

The Hopkinsville High School boys’ track and field team opened the 2024 season with a second place finish at Saturday’s Mom Clinic Track and Field Classic in Henderson.

Hopkinsville tied for second place with 73 points. Daviess County took first place with 114 points.

Ian Rossario Alicea won the 110-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 15.98 seconds. He also won the long jump with a distance of 20-03.25 and finished second in the 300-meter hurdles in 42.67 seconds.

Gavin Alston won the 100-meter dash with a personal-best time of 22.84 seconds and was second in the 400 meters in 51.95 seconds, nipped at the finish line by Muhlenberg County’s Aiden Bilbro by .17 seconds.

Keyshun Teal was fourth in the 110-meter hurdles in a personal-best time of 17.48 seconds. He also took seventh place in the 300-meter hurdles in 45.62 seconds, was eighth in the triple jump (35-01.5), and was 13th in the 200-meter dash in 25.06 seconds.

Tyson Cavinder was sixth in the 3200 meters in 11:10.71 and came in eighth place in the 1600 meters in a personal-best time of 5:00.28.

Davian Simon was ninth in the discus throw at 113-01.

Lamareon Jeffers came in 12th place in the 800 meters with a time of 2:19.67.

Devin Coleman finished in 11th place in the discus throw (99-05) and finished in 13th place in the shot put with a throw of 35 feet.

Carlo Jones was 15th in the 800 meters in 2:27.27.

James Bradley finished 16th in the 100-meter dash in 11.89 seconds.

Alden Marshall was 17th in the shot put with a toss of 31-feet, 6-inches.

Treston Kay was eighth in the long jump (17-10) and was 20th in the 100 meters in 12.14 seconds.

Savior Davis was 15th in the 3200-meter run in 12:14.33 and came in 22nd place in the 1600 meters with a time of 5:34.67.

Iriel Leak was 25th in the 400-meter dash in 1:14.22.

The 1600-meter relay team came in second place in 3:48.82.

The 3200-meter relay team finished in seventh place in 9:56.79.

The 800-meter relay team also finished in seventh place with a time of 1:38.96.
