
University Heights Academy was strong in the jumping events and finished in eighth place at the Henderson Mom’s Colonel Classic on Saturday.
Griffin McCoy won the triple jump with a distance of 42-02.25 and was sixth in the 100 meters in a personal best time of 11.58 seconds. McCoy won the state indoor title in the triple jump earlier this month.
Logan Miller was third in the 110-meter hurdles in a personal-best time of 16.90 seconds. He also had a personal best time in the 300-meter hurdles where he finished in fourth place in 44.35 seconds.
Clayton Lester was fourth in the 200-meter dash in 23.17 seconds and was fifth in the 100-meter dash in 11.50 seconds and fifth in the 400-meter dash in 53.77 seconds. He also had a fourth place finish in the high jump at 5-8.
Aaron Onate came in fifth place in the shot put with a toss of 41-00.5 and was tenth in the discus throw with a personal best of 99-feet, 8-inches.
Seventh grader Graham Conrad came in 13th place in the 1600 meters in 5:14.05 and was 21st in the 800 meters in 2:36.04.
Jack Cavanah was 26th in the 800-meter run in 2:45.31.
UHA finished in eighth place with 46 points, three points ahead of ninth place Union County.
