
Trigg County’s track teams both placed second in Caldwell County’s First Night Invite on Saturday in Princeton.
Trigg’s guys totaled 93 points to trail only Caldwell’s 157. Hopkins Central took third with 75 points, followed by Todd County Central (73), Dawson Springs (71) and Crittenden County (29).
Trigg’s girls were runners-up with 93 points. Again, host Caldwell took top honors with 181.5 points. Crittenden was third with 82.5 points, followed by Todd County (81), Dawson Springs (38) and Hopkins Central (37).
Individual champions for the Lady Wildcats included Alicia McGee, who won the 100-meter dash in 13.49 seconds.
Riley Brame took the high jump competition at 8 feet.
Alicia McGee was third in the 100-meter hurdles in 19.93 seconds.
Evonna McGee placed third in the long jump at 13 feet, 5 inches.
Brooke Humphries finished third in the shot put at 26 feet, 4 inches.
Alivia Norwood was third in the discus at 80 feet, 8 inches.
For Trigg’s guys, Dekon Perry won the 800-meter run in 2:21.95.
The 4×800-meter relay team of Evan Gravil, Riley Thompson, Mino Schmidt and Brody Renfroe was first in 9:32.63.
Riley Thompson placed second in the 1,600-meter run in 5:21.52.
Braxton Hargrove took second in the 300-meter hurdles in 47.69 seconds.
The 4×400-meter relay squad of Brody Renfroe, Matthew Reeves, Riley Thompson and Braxton Hargrove was second in 4:00.97.
Carter Shepherd was third in the 100-meter dash in 12.00 seconds.
Brody Renfroe took third in the 400-meter dash in 59.31 seconds.
The 4×200 relay team of Matthew Reeves, Mino Schmidt, Carter Shepherd and Dekon Perry was third in 1:44.44.
The meet was originally scheduled for Friday night but was pushed back a day because of the weather.
