The Christian County Lady Colonels broke open a 1-1 tie with a four-run 5th inning and then put the game away with three more runs in the top of the 7th inning on their way to an 8-1 win over the Trigg County Lady Wildcats on a cold, windy evening Tuesday at the Trigg County Recreation Complex.
The Lady Colonels scored the final eight runs of the game after Trigg County took an early 1-0 lead. The Lady Wildcats got to the front in the bottom of the first inning on a sac fly from Kady Fuller that scored Rylee Hendricks, who had reached base on a one-out single.
That would be the only run that Christian County starter Gracie Harned would give up for the game. Harned shut the Lady Wildcats down from that point forward, scattering four hits over the last six innings of the game.
The Lady Colonels evened things up in the top of the second on an RBI single from Alison Grant that scored Jayda Turner.
Christian County took control of the game in the top of the 5th inning. Jada Miller doubled with one out and then scored on a sac fly from Avery Adcock. Gracie Harned then blasted a two-run shot to left to make it 4-1. Jayda Turned then doubled and scored on a Trigg County throwing error to extend the lead to 5-1.
Christian County added three insurance runs in the top of the 7th on RBI singles from Jazmira Tejada and Jayda Turner and an RBI double from Alison Grant.
Jayda Turner finished 3-4 with a double, an RBI, and three runs scored. Jordan Turner, Avery Adcock, and Alison Grant had two hits each.
Trigg County’s Tember Oliver was 2-2. Kady Fuller finished 1-2 and drove in the only Lady Wildcat run.

Lily Eagleson pitched all seven innings for the Lady Wildcats, giving up 8 runs, 6 of them earned, on 13 hits, striking out two and walking three.
