
The Christian County baseball team continued its dominance of 8th-District rivals Fort Campbell on Tuesday, running out 15-0 winners in three innings to extend a winning streak stretching back for over a quarter century.
Colonels’ leadoff hitter Carter Sholar smacked a triple to jumpstart a three-run first inning that included an RBI single by Gage Montes.
Christian County duplicated that run output in its second at-bat, beginning with a solo home run by Sebastian Dazey. Montes added his second RBI single, and Preston Phan singled to center to plate Montes.
A nine-run third inning finished off the Falcons. Davis added his second RBI on a single and Sholar drove in another run with a double to left field. Phan finished 2/2 with three RBI after a two-run double, and Blake Boehman followed with an RBI double to make it 13-0. Eddie Davis collected his second hit of the night to bring home Jace Blue and end the game.
Broden Kellum picked up his second win of the season on the mound, allowing a single hit with seven strikeouts.
The Falcons slipped to 0-8 with Adam Harrington taking the loss after allowing eight earned runs on seven hits over two innings.
Christian County improved to 4-3 with all its wins coming against district competition. The Colonels will travel to Warren East on Friday before hosting Bowling Green and Union County on Saturday.
Fort Campbell will be on the road again on Thursday for a matchup with Trigg County.
