This week’s Jersey Mike’s ‘Player of the Game’ for the week of March 11 is Hopkinsville High School’s J.J. Thompson. J.J. was selected based on his performance in the Tigers’ season-opening win over regional contender Lyon County last Monday night.
Thompson went six strong innings on the mound as the Tigers claimed a pitchers’ duel at Lyon County 2-0. Thompson struck out 15 and allowed just one base hit and three walks in six innings of work to pick up the win in the season opener in Eddyville.
The Jersey Mike’s ‘Player of the Game’ is selected each week from one of the five schools in Christian County (Christian County, Hopkinsville, University Heights, Christian County, and Fort Campbell) based on their performance in a big game for their team that week.
