Lady Lyons Rally Twice to Edge Livingston in 8 Innings

Lyon County’s girls rallied twice to knock off Livingston Central in eight innings on Tuesday.

The Lady Lyons scored once in each of the sixth and seventh innings to tie the game at 4-4 and set up extra innings.

Livingston regained the lead with two runs in the top of the eighth, but the Lady Lyons came up with a three-spot in the home half of the inning to take the 5th District contest 7-6 at Lee S. Jones Park in Eddyville.

Lauren Davis drove in the winning run with a bunt single that brought home Brenna Breitrick from third base.

An error earlier had allowed two runs to score to knot the game at 6-6.

Emma Brasher was 2-for-4 with a double and four runs batted in to lead the Lyon offense. Jenna Coursey was 3-for-4 and scored three times. Davis finished 2-for-5 with an RBI.

Lilly Perry was the winning pitcher. She tossed all eight innings, surrendering just one earned run on seven hits. Perry struck out four and walked four.

For Livingston, Hadley Hargrove was 2-for-3 with two RBIs while Emersyn Ramagae was 2-for-4 and scored twice.

Addison Tramble suffered the pitching loss for the Lady Cardinals. She allowed three earned runs on eight hits. Tramble fanned eight but walked four.

Lyon (3-3 overall, 1-0 district) took a 1-0 lead in the third, but Livingston answered with three runs in the top of the fourth.

The Lady Lyons made it a 3-2 game in the bottom of the fourth, but Livingston tacked on another run in the top of the fifth to go up 4-2.

Lyon will next travel to Union County on Thursday.

Livingston (4-2, 0-1) will go to Calloway County on Friday.
