HCA sent 16 batters to the plate in the first inning and scored 12 times in building a big early lead. Kylynn Tudor and Hughes each had two-run singles in the opening frame.
Johnson tripled home a run as part of an eight-run second inning and later added a run-scoring single in a seven-run third inning.
Tudor and Groves each had two hits and two RBI for HCA, who improved to 2-1. Rachel Robson doubled and scored four times for the Lady Warriors.
Abigail Straight tripled for the Lady Tigers and Emma Hale-Lykins and Elaina Chaudoin each singled for Hoptown, who dropped to 0-2. They will host Fort Campbell on Thursday in a district contest.
Heritage Christian Academy will host University Heights Academy on Thursday.
