
The Fort Campbell Lady Falcons moved to 2-0 in district play Thursday afternoon. Fort Campbell got a 2-hit performance from Amar’e Moore in the circle as the Lady Falcons ran past Hopkinsville 17-0 in four innings. Fort Campbell has now outscored two district opponents 26-1 in wins over Heritage Christian and Hopkinsville.
The Lady Falcons scored in every at-bat, capped off with an 8-run fourth inning to bring the run rule into play.
Fort Campbell got started with a pair of runs in the top of the first. Hailey Herron had the big hit in the inning, driving in Amar’e Moore with a triple to center. Herron then scored on a steal of home.
The Lady Falcons took advantage of Hopkinsville miscues and pitching struggles to add six more runs in the top of the second. Avaley Moore and Jordan Wilkerson had RBI singles in the inning.
After scoring on a passed ball in the third, the Lady Falcons then erupted for 8 runs in the top of the 4th inning. Hopkinsville gave up seven walks and two hit batters to open the door for Fort Campbell to have the big inning.
Hailey Herron led the way for Fort Campbell, going 2-3 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Amar’e Moore was 2-2 with three runs scored.
Amar’e Moore had another big day in the circle pitching the shutout and finishing with 10 strikeouts.
The Lady Tigers’ early-season pitching struggles continued as they gave up 13 walks and 3 hit batters.
