A 12-run third inning did most of the damage for the Trigg County baseball team in a 15-0 victory over visiting Fort Campbell on Thursday, the Wildcats’ fifteenth-straight win over the Falcons dating back to 2006.

Lance Breckel earned his second win on the mound for the Wildcats, allowing only two hits and striking out five over three innings.

Leading 1-0 in the first, Slaton Carter doubled to right field to push a run across, and a Falcon error allowed another in the Wildcats’ half of the second.

Ayden Moore took the loss for the Falcons, allowing 11 runs, 10 earned, on six hits with a pair of strikeouts.  Moore walked the first three batters he faced in the third and hit the fourth to give Trigg a 4-0 lead.  Nathan Simmons and Bentley Reynolds followed with back-to-back RBI singles, and Aidon Butts hit into a fielder’s choice to drive in his second run of the game.

Chase Hampton doubled to drive in a pair of runs and chase Moore, but the change on the mound didn’t slow down the Wildcats.  Haydon Reynolds pushed a run across with a single, and Carter capped a three-RBI night with a single to make it 13-0.  With the bases loaded, the final two runs came in on consecutive walks to end the game.

Carter and Hampton led the way with two hits each, and Butts, Hampton, Haydon Reynolds, and Simmons each drove in two runs.

Fort Campbell remained winless through the first nine games of the season with a trip to Todd County Central coming up on Monday.  The Rebels took the first meeting 10-0 in the season opener.

The Wildcats will be looking to make it three wins in a row when they travel to McLean County on Friday.
