
The Todd County Central Lady Rebels took the first step forward in the 4th Region All A Classic Friday evening with a big first-round win. The Lady Rebels scored 11 unanswered runs after falling behind early to take an 11-1 win over Metcalfe County.
The Lady Hornets got on the board in the top of the first inning with a bases1loaded walk to make it 1-0. From there though, it was all Todd County Central.
The Lady Rebels would go on to score in four of their five at-bats in closing out the five-inning win over the Lady Hornets.
Todd County Central scored four runs in the bottom of the second, one on an error, two on ground outs, and an RBI single from Naomi Welborn.
A passed ball allowed the Lady Rebels to extend the lead to 5-1 in the third. In the fourth, Todd County Central took advantage of gifts from Metcalfe County. Two bases-loaded walks and bases-loaded hit-batter took the lead out to 8-1.
Two errors and a single from Jocelyn Mock allowed Todd County Central to close out the win with three runs in the bottom of the fifth to reach the 10-run rule.
Naomi Gammon had a big day for Todd Central, going 2-4 with three runs scored. Four other Lady Rebels had one hit each. Six different Todd Central batters had one RBI each in the game.
In the circle, Addison Woodall went five innings to pick up the win, giving up one run on four hits, striking out 12, and walking two.
