
Cayden Cline and Christopher McCarley had first-place finishes as Christian County’s guys finished in a tie for fifth in the Invitational of the South track meet Saturday at Marshall County.
Cline took first in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 11:06.13.
McCarley claimed the discus competition with a distance of 126 feet, 4 inches.
McCarley also had a fourth-place finish in the shot put at 43 feet, 1 inch.
The Colonels’ relay teams fared well.
The 4×800 relay team of Wyatt Fleming, Cayden Cline, Michael Webb and Hector Munoz took third in 9:04.51.
The 4×100 team of Satona Bailey, Jermaine Dove, Leland Creamer and Kristen Johnson placed fifth in 45.15 seconds.
The 4×200 team of Satona Bailey, Jermaine Dove, Leland Creamer and Kristen Johnson finished sixth in 1:35.92.
The 4×400 squad of Iyobosa Ogbes, Hector Munoz, Joseph Parker and Wyatt Fleming was eighth in 3:56.14.
Michael Webb had a seventh-place showing in the 1,600 run in 5:02.07.
Kristen Johnson was eighth in the 200-meter dash in 23.76 seconds and was eighth in the 100 in 11.69 seconds.
Marshall County won the boys’ team competition with 137 points while McCracken County took second with 123. Paducah Tilghman (63) was third, Rossview (60) fourth and then Christian and Calloway County tied with 52 points, just three points ahead of Hopkinsville.
For the Lady Colonels, Symeria Brown finished fifth in the 400-meter dash in 1:05.49.
The 4×100 relay team of Jazmyn Rodriguez, Jayda Johnson, Destiny Lewis and Kaidence Atwell was sixth in 53.82 seconds.
The 4×200 relay squad of Kaidence Atwell, Symeria Brown, Destiny Lewis and Julia Munoz placed sixth in 1:55.34.
The 4×400 relay team of Symeria Brown, Jazmyn Rodriguez, Julia Munoz and Lexi Rivers was sixth in 4:50.62.
Kaidence Atwell took seventh in the 200 dash in 29.36 seconds.
Christian County’s girls placed 12th out of 24 schools in the event. Marshall County took the girls’ team title.
