When you attend a Christian County Lady Colonels’ basketball game, she is not the most vocal young lady on the court. In fact, D’Ebony Anderson, for the most part, goes quietly about doing the things she needs to do for the Lady Colonel team.

Now, that does not mean that she is not giving it her all when she is on the court, In fact, that is nowhere near the case. D’Ebony Anderson goes about her job on the basketball court with a quiet, yet very effective efficiency and is an important part of the success of the Lady Colonel team.

But, this young lady is much more than what you can see from her time playing for the Lady Colonels. And, it is that combination of athletics and off-the-field accomplishments that has D’Ebony as the latest Chick-fil-A ‘Triple A’ student-athlete.

Athletically, D’Ebony was one of only three players to play every game for the Christian County Lady Colonels during the 2023-2024 season. She averaged 2.0 points and 3.1 rebounds per contest. But it is not her numbers that tell the true story for how this young lady plays the game.

D’Ebony is one of the best defenders on the team and plays with a fire and energy that has to be most annoying to any opponent that has to face off against her.

However, she is not just a force on the basketball court. D’Ebony is also knocking it down in the classroom. She is currently holding a 4.0 GPA, which is impressive. Even more so when you consider that she is taking all Honors Classes, which are challenging enough when you are not as involved in extra-cirricular activities as D’Ebony is.

With her outstanding performance in the classroom, D’Ebony has been on the Principal’s List each year that she has been in high school. The junior is also currently in the top 15 percent of her class. Pretty impressive work indeed.

D’Ebony is also involved in the school community at Christian County High School. She is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Christian County. FCA is a worldwide interdenominational Christian sports organization whose mission is “to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.” The Fellowship of Christian Athletes was founded in 1954 and is active in all 50 states and in over 70 countries around the world. She is also involved in BSU.

Then, there are her musical talents. D’Ebony is in the band at Christian County High School and during marching season, she plays sousaphone, which is a very specialized instrument. For those who may not know, a sousaphone is a valved brass instrument with the same tube length and musical range as other tubas. The sousaphone’s shape is such that the bell is above the tubist’s head and projecting forward. They are really easy to spot on the marching band field. During concert band season, D’Ebony plays the tuba.

And what does her coach say about her. Kiki Radford noted “D’Ebony is an absolute wonderful young lady! She is the true definition of a hard-working student-athlete! She always puts her academics first! D’Ebony works hard in everything that she puts her hands on and I have no doubt she will succeed in whatever goals she has set for herself!”

As for future plans, D’Ebony Anderson looks to be involved in business, possibly focusing on investments.

Smart, driven, talented, and a young lady of great character. Those are the things that combine to make D’Ebony Anderson the latest Chick-fil-A ‘Triple A.’

  1. A little something else that some may not know is she works at the Bruce E convention center and does hair on the side. D’Ebony is really a blessed, responsible, and respectful young lady. She’s a very caring person who’s loves Yahweh. I’m super proud to be her mother.
