
Visiting Stewart County scored six times on seven errors and defeated Todd County Central High School by a count of 6-0 Thursday in a baseball battle of the Rebels in Elkton.
Conner Lehman singled and scored on an Adam Bradshaw RBI base hit in the top of the second to give the visitors an early lead. Stewart County then struck for five more runs in the fourth inning to take complete control. SCHS had seven hits but it was the seven TCCHS miscues that provided most of the opportunities.
Starting pitcher Zack Robinson (2-2) struck out seven and allowed six hits and six runs in six innings for Todd Central. Devin Schutt pitched the final inning in relief, allowing just one hit and fanning a pair. Jared Anderson (eight K’s) and Anthony Bisagno each issued a walk and combined for the two-hit Stewart shutout.
The Rebels of Dover, Tennessee (3-3), were led offensively by leadoff hitter Benjamin Hendricks, who went 2-for-4 with a run and RBI. Bisagno and Jermiah Compton each hit doubles. George Cumbee and Aaron Mansfield each singled to account for the two Elkton Rebels hits.
Before departing for its Spring Break trip to Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Todd County Central (3-5) will host its third straight home game at 6 p.m. Friday against Butler County. The Bears have defeated the Rebels in 10 straight games, dating back to 2010.
