
Caldwell County’s guys took two of three matches at Hopkins County Central but Caldwell’s girls dropped a close match in tennis action on Thursday in Mortons Gap.
For the boys, Caldwell took two singles matches, with Ryan Hammett defeating Jagger Byrum 6-1, 6-0, and Cason Littlejohn beating Tyrone Hopson 9-7.
But Caldwell’s Noah Bailey and Ben Menser dropped their doubles match with Byrum and Hopson.
In the girls’ competition, the teams split six singles matches, but Hopkins Central took two of the three doubles matches.

Addison Rickard (HC) def. Ella Johnson 9-7;
Keegan Miller (CC) def. Emma Killough 8-1;

Troy Freeman (CC) def. Morgan Capps 8-3;
Jayden Lamb (CC) def. Lexi Williams 8-3.
In doubles:
Mackey/Alissa Adams (HC) def. Miller/Johnson 7-5;
Greenfield/Freeman (CC) def. Rickard/Killough 8-4;
Avery Adams/Capps (HC) def. Lamb/Addison Robinson 8-3.
The Caldwell teams are now off until after spring break.
