Caldwell’s Girls Rout Dawson Twice, Now 8-3

Caldwell County’s girls made quick work of a pair of 7th District wins over Dawson Springs on Thursday.

The Lady Tigers scored 15 runs in the first inning while taking the first game 19-0 in three innings.

An 11-run first inning in game two led to a 15-0 triumph.

In the opener, Jackie Farmer allowed no hits in three innings of work inside the pitching circle to pick up the win. She struck out four and walked one.

Brylee Butts homered as part of a 12-hit attack for Caldwell.

Daelen Kizzee tripled while going 2-for-2 and driving in two. Adley Lewis doubled twice and went 2-for-2 and drove in three. Alexis Wood was 2-for-2 with two RBIs.

In the second game, Sydney Glisson was the winning pitcher, allowing just one hit in three innings. She fanned six and walked three.

Caldwell, which played many of its junior varsity players in game two, had only five hits in that contest, but took advantage of nine walks.

Glisson was 1-for-1 with a triple and two runs scored. Emerye Stallion was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs.

The Lady Tigers are now 8-3 this season and 3-1 in the district.

The Lady Panthers are 0-10 and 0-2.

The Lady Tigers have now won 19 straight matchups with Dawson Springs. Caldwell leads all-time 30-12 but Dawson Springs has not won in the series since the 2013 season.

The Lady Tigers have now won four straight games this season and have taken seven of their last eight outings.

Caldwell’s girls will go to Calloway County on Friday.
