Henderson County smacked five home runs and upped its winning streak to eight games with an 11-0 win at Trigg County on Friday.

Hallie McCracken and Anna Kemp hit back-to-back shots in the first to stake Henderson to a 3-0 lead.

McCracken and Kemp, went back to back again in the fourth inning, joined by a Taylor Troutman leadoff home run for three straight over the fence. For Troutman, a Mississippi State commit, it was her sixth jack of the season. Kemp, who has committed to Missouri and missed three games playing for Henderson’s basketball team in the state tournament, has five homers.

McCracken, who has committed to Oakland City University, finished with three hits and four RBI, adding an RBI double in the second inning. Lauren Nordhaus had three hits and two RBI from the No. 9 spot, and Alyse Rollings and Christian County transfer Saniya Shields each had two hits.

Henderson scored three in the first inning, three in the third, and four more in the fourth to back the pitching of Ava Eblen, who allowed only a third inning single by Lily Eagleson. She struck out three and didn’t walk a batter.

The game was only the second-ever between Trigg and Henderson and the first in seven years. Henderson won that one 5-4.

After a March 16 loss to Caldwell County, which snapped a 37-game winning streak against region competition dating back to 2019, the Lady Colonels have ripped off eight straight wins to improve to 10-1.

Trigg County will head to Florida this weekend for the program’s first-ever trip to the Sunshine State with a record of 7-6. They will begin play on the Emerald Coast on Monday against Owensboro in Fort Walton Beach.
