Hoptown Lady Tigers Run to Fourth Place at Calloway County Invite

The Hopkinsville girls’ track and field team finished in fourth place at Saturday’s Calloway County Laker Invite in Murray.

In the running events, Anniriah Settles was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles in 54.81 seconds.

Lauren Mayes was fourth in the 3200-meter run (13:33.32) and fifth in the 1600-meter run in 5:52.77.

Kaydon Coats was sixth in the 800 meters in 3:01.52 and ninth in the 3200 meters in 16:12.17.

Ollia Dixon came in sixth place in the 300-meter hurdles in 58.98 seconds and eighth place in the 100-meter hurdles in 20.28 seconds.

Grace Cansler was seventh in the 400-meter run in 1:05.96 and eighth in the 200 meters with a time of 29.75 seconds.

Kaniya Jackson finished in ninth place in the 100-meter hurdles in 21.16 seconds.

Rebecca Wood was ninth in the 800 meters in 3:06.05 and 10th in the 1600-meter run in 6:47.56.

Lilly Combs was 10th in the 100-meter hurdles in 25.98 seconds and 11th in the 300-meter hurdles in 1:10.21. She also finished 28th in the 200-meter dash.

Janiyah Rhodes was 10th in the 100-meter dash in 14.39 seconds and 14th in the 200-meter dash in 31.78.

Aireona Spikes was 12th in the 400-meter run in 1:12.04 and 15th in the 100-meter dash in 14.69 seconds.

Kalajsha Rowe was 15th in the 400 meters in 1:14.19.

Arniya Brown was 17th in the 100 meters in 14.74 seconds and 19th in the 200 meters in 32.15 seconds.

Makiya Terrell was 21st in the 100-meter dash in 15.51 seconds.

Jayla Brunson was 22nd in the 100-meter dash in 15.63 seconds.

Sumaya Teal came in 23rd in the 100-meter dash in 15.81 seconds.

Grace Cansler, Aireona Spikes, Amaya Burse, and Kalajsha Rowe ran a combined 4:56.27 to finish in fourth place in the 1600-meter relay.

The 400-meter relay team of Arniya Brown, Janiyah Rhodes, Ollia Dixon, and Kaniya Jackson finished in fifth place in 55.56 seconds.

The 800-meter relay team of Grace Cansler, Arniya Brown, Janiyah Rhodes, and Aireona Spikes came in sixth place in a time of 1:57.04.

In the field events, ZaKarah Henderson finished seventh in the shot put with a heave of 26 feet. She also finished seventh in the discus throw at 73-07.

Amaya Burse was seventh in the triple jump at 26-11 and was eighth in the high jump at 4-04.

Jakaylah Pettus was 13th in the shot put at 19-02.25 and 15th in the discus throw at 52-01.

Kaniya Jackson was 14th in the long jump at 11-10.5.

Jayla Brunson was 15th in the long jump at 11-05.5.

Sumaya Teal was 17th in the long jump at 9-6.5.

Hopkinsville’s 49 team points were good for fourth place out of 11 teams. Calloway County, expected to challenge for the Class 2A state title, won the event with 192 points.
