Lady Wildcats Plate 13 Runs in Second Spring Break Win

The Trigg County Lady Wildcats must like the hitting atmosphere along the Gulf Coast. For the second straight day, the Lady Wildcats put up double digits on the scoreboard as they rolled to a 13-3 5-inning win over the Campbellsville Lady Eagles.

Trigg County scored in every inning, blowing the game open with six runs in the second and four more in the bottom of the fourth.

The Lady Wildcats took advantage of a Campbellsville error to go up 1-0 in the bottom of the first.

After the Lady Eagles tied the game up at 1-1 in the top of the second, Trigg County put the game away for good. After singles from Livia Breckel and Lily Eagleson to open the bottom half of the inning, Trigg scored 2 runs on a Campbellsville error and another on a ground out to make it 4-1.

After Rylee Hendricks doubled and Tember Oliver walked, Kady Fuller blasted a 3-run homer to center putting the Lady Wildcats up 7-1.

The Lady Eagles briefly looked ready to fight their way back into the game with a 2-run double in the top of the third to cut the lead to 7-3, but that would be as close as they would get.

Veyda Grinols drove in a run with a single in the bottom of the third to make it 8-3. Five of the first six Trigg batters in the bottom of the fourth came up with a hit as the Lady Wildcats scored four more to make it 12-3. Jayden Visingardi and Kiley Slone had RBI doubles during the inning.

Trigg County then closed out the game when Livia Breckel singled with two outs in the bottom of the fifth to score Gracelynne Turner with the game-ending run.

Kady Fuller and Livia Breckel led the way for the 14-hit Trigg County attack. Fuller was 3-3 with a home run, 3 RBIs, and a run scored. Breckel finished 3-4 with 3 RBIs, and two runs scored. Kiley Slone and Lily Eagleson added two hits each.

Tember Oliver got the win in the circle, going all five innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits, striking out 4 and walking none.

Trigg County is back in action Wednesday evening in the Florida Beach Bash, taking on Muhlenberg County.
