After giving up 35 runs over the last three games, the Todd County Central Lady Rebels put the clamps on Gulf Shores and allowed just two runs Wednesday but that was one run too many as Gulf Shores claimed a 2-1 home field win over the Lady Rebels.

The loss was the third in as many days for Todd County Central on their Gulf Coast swing.

A Lady Rebel error to start the bottom of the first inning allowed Gulf Shores to take an early 1-0 lead.

Todd County Central came back to tie the game in the top of the 4th inning. Abby Williams got things started with a one-out double to center. Naomi Welborn singled to give the Lady Rebels runners on the corners. Williams then scored on a fly to deep short to even the game at 1-1.

Gulf Shores got that run back in the bottom half of the inning, putting together two singles and a walk to go back on top 2-1.

Todd County Central got one last chance to even things up in the top of the seventh. Addison Woodall reached base on a two-out error. Dakotah Gammon followed that with a single to put the tying run in scoring position at second base. But Gulf Shores came up with a strikeout to end the threat and the game.

Naomi Gammon, Naomi Welborn, Abby Williams, and Dakotah Gammon had one hit each for the Lady Rebels. Jocelyn Mock drove in the only Lady Rebel run for the evening.

Jocelyn Mock was charged with the loss, despite a solid outing in the circle. Mock gave up two runs, one of them earned, on five hits, striking out one and walking one.
