The Crittenden County Lady Rockets avenged a loss earlier this season to Lyon County with a 14-4 victory on Tuesday in Eddyville, dumping the Lady Lyons out of the 2nd Region All-A tournament to advance to the championship game.

The Lady Rockets banged out 14 hits to improve to 8-7 and earn their fifth win in the last six outings while dropping the Lady Lyons to 6-6 with their second defeat in the last three games.

With the game knotted at 1-1 in the top of the third, Andrea Federico led off the inning with a solo home run to center and runs on an Anna Boone RBI double and a run-scoring single by Hannah Jent made it 4-1 after four.

The Lady Rockets erupted for nine runs in the fifth, taking advantage of three walks and a pair of Lyon County errors.  Federico drove in her second run of the game with a single, and Elle McDaniel and Morgan Piper each singled in runs ahead of a two-run double by Aubre Conyer.

Down to their last out in the bottom of the fifth, Gracen Wynn drove in a run with a single and the Lady Lyons scored twice on a Crittenden error to extend the game.  However, a Lyon County error in the top of the sixth allowed a run in to stretch the lead back to ten, and the Lady Lyons couldn’t muster another rally in the bottom of the frame.

Lilly Perry took the loss in the circle, allowing five earned runs on 14 hits with nine walks and seven strikeouts.

Courtney Collins finished with two hits for the Lady Lyons, and Wynn and Olivia Moore each had a hit and an RBI.

Brodi Rich earned the win for the Lady Rockets, allowing two hits with a walk and a strikeout over three and two-thirds innings.  Boone came on in relief to work the final two and a third, allowing three runs, one earned, on three hits with a pair of walks and a strikeout.

Federico led the way at the plate, finishing with 3/3 with three RBI.  Boone also had three hits and drove in a run, Jent added three RBI, McDaniel hit safely twice and drove in a run, and Conyer was 2/3 with two RBI.

Lyon County will look to get back on track with a trip to Union County on Thursday.

Crittenden County awaits the winner of Fort Campbell and University Heights Academy in the other All-A semifinal.
