The Lyon County Lyons appear to be hitting their stride at a good time.
Eli Baker tossed a no-hitter while Austin Spears and Korben Lucas each homered as Lyon routed Crittenden County 21-0 Friday night in the championship game of the 2nd Region All A Classic.
The Lyons will host the 1st Region champion in a sectional matchup with the winner advancing to the state All A Classic at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond April 27-28. That opponent is not yet known, with the 1st Region set to finish up its tournament this weekend.
Baker didn’t offer Crittenden much hope on Friday, even though the Rockets were appearing in the All A regional championship for the third time in four years.
A two-out walk in the bottom of the fifth inning was the only baserunner Baker allowed in the contest.
Baker (3-2) struck out 12 and needed just 90 pitches in the complete-game effort.
Meanwhile, a five-run third inning helped Lyon build an 8-0 lead through four innings. But a 13-run seventh inning put the finishing touches on the lopsided victory.
Spears and Lucas each had long balls in the seventh inning as Lyon sent 16 men to the plate in the top of the seventh.
Lucas was 2-for-3 with four runs batted in while Spears was 2-for-5 and knocked in four.
Baker went 2-for-6 at the plate with a pair of doubles and four RBIs. Drew Richie finished 2-for-3 and drove in two.
Lyon totaled 13 base hits in the contest along with 10 walks and six hit batters.
It was the ninth straight win for the Lyons after starting the season 0-4.
Crittenden is now 10-7.
Lyon’s regional championship was its third in the last six years. The Lyons reached the All A Classic state semifinals in both 2019 and 2022.
