If you have been to a Fort Campbell sporting event over the years, you have more than likely seen him at some point. If you have read a story with the stats from a Fort Campbell football, basketball, or baseball game during that time period, you have seen some of the results of his work.
Now, Fort Campbell stat man, and former color man on the Fort Campbell football broadcasts on WHVO, Donnie Caver is being deservedly recognized for his years of commitment to Falcon athletics.
It has been announced that Caver is a 2024 recipient of the Dr. Rudy J. Ellis Distinguished Service Award. The award is presented by the Kentucky Athletic Administrators Association.
In the announcement of the award, Caver was recognized for his “outstanding contributions to high school athletics over the years and his service to athletic administrators, student-athletes, and community.”
The Dr. Rudy J. Ellis Distinguished Service Awards are presented to individuals, groups, or businesses outside the field of athletic administration in recognition of their service and support of high school athletics within their community and beyond.
The award is named for the late Dr. Rudy J. Ellis of Louisville who was a pioneer in sports medicine in Louisville and throughout the Commonwealth.
The award will be formally presented at an awards banquet April 25.
