The Christian County Lady Colonels were a ‘hit’, in one way of looking at things, as they opened district play Monday night and did so in short order. The Lady Colonels scored in each of their three at bats on the way to a 15-0 three-inning win over the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers.
The Lady Colonels may have felt as if they had a target on their backs, somewhat literally, as Christian County had seven batters hit by a pitch over the three inning game. Hopkinsville pitching also had seven walks in the game.
Bailee Ladson led the Lady Colonels at the plate going 2-2 with 3 RBIs and two runs scored. Chloe Almy finished 2-2 with an RBI and a run scored.
Alyssa Petterson went three innings in the circle, giving up just one hit and striking out seven.
Jesslyn Trejo had the only hit in the game for Hopkinsville.
