Lyon Runs Win Streak to 10, 4-1 at Murray

Make it 10 straight wins for the Lyon County baseball team.

The Lyons scored four times in the fifth inning and went on to win 4-1 Monday at Murray.

Murray (8-9) grabbed a 1-0 lead in the third before Lyon put together its four-run frame.

Brady Belt knocked in the first two runs for Lyon with a one-out single to center. Austin Spears was then hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to make it 3-1. Another run scored when Korben Lucas grounded into a fielder’s choice to extend the margin to 4-1.

That’s all the support Lyon’s pitching would need. Belt picked up the win with 4.2 innings of relief. He did not allow a run while surrendering three hits. Belt struck out three.

John Bingham started on the hill for Lyon and went the first 2.1 innings. He allowed one earned run on six base hits while striking out to and walking one.

Lucas finished 2-for-3 at the plate.

Jack Elmore went 3-for-4 for Murray.

The Lyons, now 10-4, will host Carlisle County on Friday at 6 p.m. in a sectional game in the All A Classic.
