The result was a 17-2 win by the Colonels on Tuesday in Cadiz, extending their win streak over the Wildcats to six games.

Dazey smacked a three-run homer to left field in the first inning as the Colonels built a 4-0 lead.
Trigg County got a run back in the home half of the first when Aidon Butts singled, stole second, and scored on a Bentley Reynolds single. However, a baserunning error by Trigg eliminated the momentum and the chance to add more runs.
The Colonels tacked on four more runs in the second inning. Preston Phan had the big hit, a two-run triple to center field. Jacob Jenkins scored Phan with a single, part of a 3-for-3 day with three RBI.
Lewis capped a five-run fifth inning with a three-run homer to right – his first home run in 172 varsity at-bats. He also pushed his team lead in RBI to 20. He finished 4-for-5.
Dazey and Carter Sholar also had two hits as the Colonels rapped out 15 for the day.
The Colonel offense backed the pitching of Broden Kellum, who moved to 3-1, allowing two hits and striking out six. Neither of Trigg’s runs were earned, lowering Kellum’s ERA to 1.25.
Trigg County pitchers came into the game with a collective 7.95 ERA and 49 walks in 71 innings pitched. 14 of the 17 runs given up Tuesday were earned with seven more walks added to the total.
The loss is the third straight for Trigg County and sends its season record to 6-8. They will play at Murray on Thursday, looking for their first win over the Tigers in six years.
