Caldwell County’s guys took two of three matches against Hopkins County Central in action Tuesday at the CCHS tennis courts.
But the girls’ match was tied 4-4 when the final two matches were suspended because of rain.
In boys’ singles:
Ryan Hammett (CC) defeated Jagger Byrum 6-1, 6-0;
Noah Bailey (CC) def. Tyrone Hopson 8-1.
In boys’ doubles:
Byrum/Hopson (HC) def. Cason Littlejohn/Bailey 6-2, 6-2.
In girls’ singles:
Josie Shaffer (CC) def. Callie Mackey 6-3, 6-3;
Ella Johnson (CC) def. Addison Rickard 8-6;
Keegan Miller (CC) def. Emma Killough 8-5;
Elissa Adams (HC) def. Meleah Greenfield 8-2;
Avery Adams (HC) def. Troy Freeman 8-6;
Lexie Williams (HC) def. Isabella Stewart 9-7;
Jayden Lamb (CC) def. Gracey Patterson 8-4.
In girls’ doubles:
Killough/Rickard (HC) def. Freeman/Greenfield 8-5.
Meanwhile, Hopkins Central’s Mackey and Elissa Adams led Miller and Johnson 6-4, 0-2 when that match was stopped.
Caldwell’s Marissa Smith and Addison Robinson led Avery Adams and Patterson 5-4 when rain halted play.
