Maurice Moore reached the medal podium twice at last year’s KHSAA state track and field meet, winning the 400-meter dash.
Moore knows repeating as state champion will be hard, if not harder than winning his first title. Adding to that, Moore has added the 100-meter dash to his track resume. He turned in an 11.11-second performance earlier this year that would have been the second-fastest time at last year’s state meet.
The Fort Campbell senior has no problem with clinking and clanking from the medals around his neck as he walks away from the state meet but also knows there is plenty of work to be done for that to happen.
