Struggling at the plate and in the field is a bad combination most nights and it was indeed for the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons Friday night. The Lady Falcons had more errors in the game, (5), than they did hits at the plate, (4), as they dropped an 8-0 decision on the road at Clarksville Northeast.
The loss ended a two-game winning streak for the Lady Falcons.
Northeast scored in five of six at-bats in picking up the win. They had one in the first, one in the second, two in the third, one in the fourth, and then three runs in the sixth.
Tristin Caldwell led the Lady Falcons at the plate, going 2-3.
Amar’e Moore went the distance in the circle for Fort Campbell. The 7th grader finished with 9 strikeout and three walks. She gave up 8 runs, but only 3 of them were earned as the Lady Falcons were charged with five errors in the game.
The Lady Falcons are back in action Tuesday as they go on the road to take on Hopkins County Central.
