The spring tennis season has sometimes been frustrating for area teams because of the inconsistent weather that has brought rain and high winds.
On Friday at Ruff Park, Hopkinsville and Lyon County met in a six-game match with the Lady Lyon picking up a 4-2 win.
Lyon’s Anna Crawford and Josie Kaminski cruised to singles wins. Crawford beat Hoptown’s Aphrasia King 8-2 in one match, while Kaminski downed Chiani Leak 8-0 in the other.
Jackie Hall also nabbed a win for Lyon County, beating Evelyn Bangart 8-2.

Brooke Stewart picked up Hopkinsville’s lone singles win with an 8-5 win over Allie Holt in a back-and-forth affair.
The teams split their doubles matches. Hoptown’s Stewart and Leak beat Lyon’s Holt and Hall 8-2, while Kaminski and Bailey Brietrick downed Bangart and King 8-2.
Lyon County is scheduled to play at Fort Campbell on Monday, while Hopkinsville will play University Heights Academy on Tuesday.
