Trigg Warms Up For Region Fishing Tourney With Top-5 Showing

The Trigg County bass fishing team got in some quality time on Lake Barkley on Saturday as they prepared for next weekend’s region tournament.

Braxton Hargrove and Gentry Hyde finished in third place with five bass that weighed 14 pounds. Their biggest catch weighed 3 pounds and an ounce.

McCracken County’s Blake Jeffrey and Jentry King took first place with a total catch of 17.13 pounds.

D.J. McCraw and Tyler Westfall finished in 24th place with three fish that weighed 6.09 pounds.

Parker Hagewood and Eli Moore finished in 35th place with one fish that weighed 4.15 pounds. That was caught by Moore and was the big fish of the tournament.

Wyatt Rogers and Stephen Erdmann came in 40th place with a fish that weighed 2.14 pounds.

Trigg had some missing tandems due to Saturday night’s prom.

Lake Barkley will host the region fishing tournament on Saturday, leaving from the Kuttawa boat ramp. The top teams and qualifiers move on to next month’s state fishing tournament on Kentucky Lake.
