The final score does not indicate just where the game between the Christian County Lady Colonels and the Henderson County Lady Colonels stood going into the 6th inning. After home runs from Avery Adock and Jazzy Tejada in the bottom of the 5th, the southern Lady Colonels had pulled to within one run at 7-6 and appeared to have the momentum all moving in their direction.

But, as we all know, momentum can be a very fickle friend.

Henderson County scored five runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh to turn a tenuous one-run lead into a 9-run deficit as the northern Lady Colonels took a 15-6 win.

Henderson improves to 18-2 with the win. Their only losses are a pair of one-run defeats, one to Caldwell County and one to Greenwood.

Both teams got on the board with a single run in the first inning. Henderson then grabbed the momentum with three runs in the top of the third. The big hit in the inning was a two-run double from Saniya Shields.

Christian County got one of the runs back when Avery Adcock led off the bottom of the third with a blast over the fence in left-center that made it a 4-2 game.

Henderson got a two-run home run from Alyse Rollings in the top of the 4th and then added a run in the top of the 5th to extend the lead out to 7-2.

Christian County then made things a bit more interesting in the bottom half of the inning when Avery Adcock hit a two-run shot to left-center and Jazzy Tejada took a two-run shot to right, and suddenly the lead was down to 7-6.

But that would be the end of the comeback as the Henderson bats got revved up and put five runs on the board in the 6th. Rollings hit her second homer of the night in the 7th and Hallie McCracken also left the yard as Henderson pulled away down the stretch.

Avery Adcock had a big night at the plate, going 2-2 with 2 home runs, 3 RBIs, and 3 runs scored. Adcock also drew two walks. Jazzy Tejada ended up 1-3 with a home run, two RBIs, and a run scored.

With the loss, Christian County drops to 11-9 on the season. They are set to get back to action Friday evening at University Heights.
