After struggling for much of the last two weeks, Caldwell County’s girls put everything together Thursday against Graves County.

Alexis Wood pitched a two-hit shutout, Harper Holeman and Alicia Stanley hit home runs, and the Caldwell defense did not commit an error in a 9-0 victory over the Lady Eagles at Lady Tiger Field in Princeton.

Caldwell (12-11) scored four runs in the third inning and five runs in the sixth inning to avenge a 9-7 loss to Graves County last month.

Holeman’s two-run home run to center with one out in the bottom of the third inning got the scoring started.

Stanley followed with another homer to center to make it 3-0.

A wild pitch allowed another run to cross the plate and give Caldwell its 4-0 lead.

The Lady Tigers then put the game away in the sixth.

Brylee Butts doubled home two runs to extend the margin to 6-0.

A wild pitch and an error allowed two more runs to score. Carlee Palm was then hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to make it a 9-0 ballgame.

Meanwhile, Wood struck out four and walked three in the pitching circle for Caldwell to earn the win.

Maci Tyler was the only player in the game with multiple hits, finishing 2-for-4.

Graves (14-12) managed just two singles in the contest.

Caldwell had lost its previous three games and seven of its last eight.

The Lady Tigers will play at home again on Friday when they face Marshall County.
