It would be easy to assume from the score that Fort Campbell and Kenwood met for an out-of-season football game on Thursday, with the Falcons taking advantage of 11 walks, seven hit-by-pitches, and nine errors to crush the Knights 32-7 and snap a six-game skid.
Adam Harrington had a huge night for Fort Campbell, earning the win on the mound while collecting four hits and driving in six runs. He got started with a pair of RBI doubles in the Falcons’ eight-run first, with Michael Anderson also plating a pair of runs with a double.
Harrington worked all four innings to pick up his first victory of the season, allowing six runs over the first two frames before holding Kenwood scoreless over the final two. He walked four and struck out three while allowing only two hits.
A 15-run second inning put the game out of reach, with RBI singles by Corey Baker and Jeremiah Brewer, and two by Noah Herron.
In the third, John Arnold drove in a run with a single ahead of a two-run triple by Harrington, and the Falcons added four runs on three Kenwood errors in the top of the fourth.
Herron had three hits with five RBI, and Anderson collected three hits and drove in two runs. Brewer and Arnold each added two RBI, and Baker hit safely twice.
Darius Casiano took the loss for the 2-17 Knights, allowing eight earned runs on four hits with three walks and two strikeouts in an inning of work.
Fort Campbell improved to 4-19 and will travel across state lines again on Friday to face White’s Creek, TN.
