Caldwell Tennis Teams Get Senior Day Wins over Fort Campbell

The Caldwell County tennis teams took girls’ and boys’ matches from Fort Campbell Thursday on Senior Day at the CCHS courts in Princeton.

The Lady Tigers swept eight matches from the Lady Falcons, dropping just two games all day. Meanwhile, the Tigers picked up a 5-2 win over the Falcons.

In girls’ singles:
Josie Shaffer defeated Yujin Chong 8-0;
Ella Johnson def. Rachel Hembree 8-0;
Keegan Miller def. Elizabeth Spain 8-0;
Meleah Greenfield def. Yejin Chong 8-1;
Troy Freeman def. Emily Pettingill 8-0;
Marissa Smith def. Thia Anderson 8-0.

In girls’ doubles:
Miller/Johnson def. Yujin Chong/Hembree 8-1;
Greenfield/Freeman def. Spain/Emily Herrera 8-0.

Boys’ singles results:
Ryan Hammett (CC) def. Derrick Love 6-1, 6-1;
Noah Bailey (CC) def. Caden Nunley 8-0;
Cason Littlejohn (CC) def. Jesse Denoto 8-1;
Elijah Thomas (CC) def. Colten Colburn 8-1;
Malachi Dong (FC) def. Ben Menser 8-3.

In boys’ doubles:
Littlejohn/Bailey (CC) def. Denoto/Dong 8-0;
Nunley/Colburn (FC) def. Thomas/Cash Johnson 8-3.

Caldwell honored its four seniors before the match — Hammett, Shaffer, Miller and Smith.
