With a huge district game with Christian County coming up on Friday, the Hopkinsville Tigers made quick work of West Creek on Senior Night with a 15-0 win at Tiger Stadium.

Hopkinsville needed only six hits to get its 16th win of the season and tenth in its last 11 games.

Zach Moss and J.J. Thompson both had two hits and three RBI at the top of the Tiger lineup. They both also stole three bases.

Sprinkled in with Hoptown’s six hits were nine walks and four hit batters which expedited the three-inning win.

Lucas Kaetzel improved to 2-0 with the two-hit shutout. He walked two and struck out two, lowering his season ERA to 2.33. Kaetzel, Moss, and Thompson were honored in pregame Senior Night festivities.

Hopkinsville (16-3) will play at Christian County on Friday with the No. 1 seed in the district tournament on the line. Hoptown is 2-0 in the district, while Christian County is 3-0 in the games that count toward the seeding process. The 8th District only counts the first district game played when it comes to determining the seeds for the postseason.

Friday is the first of four straight road games for the Tigers, who will play at Caldwell County on Tuesday and face University Heights Academy in a doubleheader on Thursday.
