The Christian County Lady Colonels scored just one run in the first inning and one run in the third inning Friday evening. The problem for the UHA Lady Blazers was what the Lady Colonels did in the inning in between.
Christian County put up 13 runs on the scoreboard in the second as the Lady Colonels continued their dominance in the 8th District with a 15-0 3-inning win over the Lady Blazers.
Pitching was a big issue for University Heights in that second inning as the Lady Blazers gave up seven walks and hit three Lady Colonel batters, setting the stage for the big run total.
Meanwhile, Christian County pitchers Gracie Harned and Jordan Turner combined to throw a 3-inning no-hitter, facing the minimum of 9 batters in the game.
Christian County finished the game with six hits, led by Chloe Almy, who went 2-3 with a double, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs scored. Avery Adcock, Jazzy Tejada, Haley Petterson, and Jayda Turner had one hit each. Tejada, Adcock, and Turner also had two RBIs each.
