John Calipari is no longer the coach at Kentucky but at times he’s still going to say and do things that will “interest/infuriate” UK fans.
Calipari took some big hits on social media Tuesday based on second-hand information that does seem credible.
Top five prospect Caleb Wilson had a Kentucky offer before Calipari left and is now being pursued by Arkansas. He recently had a meeting with Calipari that he discussed with 247Sports during a Nike EYBL event in Memphis last weekend:
“Coach Calipari came to my school a week ago and that is when I got the offer (from Arkansas). He tells me it’s like Calipari University. He’s just moving homes,” Wilson told 247Sports.
Calipari University? A coach has to believe in himself and exude confidence to recruits but that was a terrible choice of words after part of his off-court downfall with the Kentucky fan base was his perceived ego. Not sure folks at Arkansas will totally embrace being known as Calipari University, either.
The “Calipari University” quote seemed even worse when another report came out on social media that Calipari and his staff failed to submit the proper paperwork for sophomore Adou Thiero to put his name into the NBA Draft even though Thiero announced on March 30 he was putting his name into the draft and transfer portal after talking with Calipari.
According to On3’s Jamie Shaw, hometown Pittsburgh and North Carolina are recruiting Thiero the hardest which is significant since his name was not on the 2024 NBA Draft early-entrant list released Tuesday. One social media report indicated that Calipari and/or his staff forgot to submit Thiero’s paperwork.
Freshmen Rob Dillingham, Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham do all appear on the NBA Draft early-entrant list — but Thiero does not. Maybe he told Calipari he changed his mind. Maybe the UK staff forgot.
Bottom line it was a bad day in the Bluegrass for Calipari but a day that made many UK fans appreciate new coach Mark Pope even more.

That is just another sign of a coach who thinks he bigger than the University. I don’t think some of the Arkansas will appreciate this statement, and they shouldn’t.
Hey Larry! Kiss a Muddy Hogs Ass! I know You Miss him but He always thought he was bigger than Kentucky Basketball! But the joke’s on him! And I will not read anything else from you until You write about the Cats beating Him after the first game against him. Go Cats!!

Got sick of Calipari. Glad he’s gone. Wish he had gone further than Arkansas.

I wish Cali-fraudi had left the SEC. The thought of having to see and listen to him several times a year nauseates me to an extreme.
The fraud needs mental help. He could not complete a sentence, lied nearly every time he opened his mouth, claimed to be the king – an egotistical maniac. His self-centered arrogance was fueled by the weakness of the UK AD who seemed to fear the fraud & it was sent skyrocketing when he was handed ownership of UK BB when given a guaranteed financial windfall with zero accountability.
I hope the fans who were cheated out of seeing UK beyond 1 game in the SECT after spending their time & money to attend year after year file a class action lawsuit and win, forcing the fraud to reimburse thousands of UK fans mega-millions to split!
Simultaneously, many former UK players who were cheated out of playing time which shut down their future possibilities, should file a class action suit for non-recoverable damages.
The amazing compilation of ANE values of players analyzed by the Professor would convince any jury that the fraud did indeed play favorite pets with much lower ANE values than those such as Thiero & Burks averaged.

The man is gone and you are all still hating. After all he did bring us a championship and put us inline to win more, that to the final four. If you want to hate, hate Billy and Eddy.
