Let’s see, she has it all under control in the classroom. Check. She is very involved in her school community. Check. Community involvement has an important place in her heart. Check. She is very talented in an area that she hopes to turn into a productive career. Check. And, oh by the way, she is a busy athlete at Lyon County High School. Check.

Lyon County student-athlete Sadi Gandee checks all the boxes of athletic, talented, smart, involved, and knows where she wants to go, and that combination places her as the latest Chick-fil-A ‘Triple A.’

On the athletic side of things, Sadi has run track, been on the soccer team, and she says this fall she wants to try and play golf for the Lady Lyons. She was part of the Lyon County 4×800 relay team that last season just missed out on making the Class 1A state track and field meet.

In the classroom, she is taking care of business, in a big way. Sadi has a 4.0 GPA, which is truly an accomplishment, especially with how active she is in so many areas.

She is very active in the school community at Lyon County High School. Sadi is a part of the Future Business Leaders of America. FBLA is designed to inspire and prepare students to become community-minded business leaders through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences. FBLA is the largest business Career and Technical Student Organization in the world.

She is also a part of the Lyon County Beta Club. Beta is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America, which for more than 80 years, has prepared today’s students to be tomorrow’s leaders. Beta’s goal is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.

Sadi’s school involvement does not stop there. She is also involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Pep Club.

Sadi also likes to be involved in her community and obviously has an affection for animals. She was involved in the startup of the ‘Tails on Trails’ program in Lyon County. The program was started to promote wellness, community involvement and, of course, dogs. Asked about the program, Sadi said “’Tails on Trails’ was my first true leadership experience. I was excited to be asked to help for the experience. It was so cool getting to see something you work so hard on become a reality. My hope for ‘Tails on Trails’ is that the community relationship strengthens through this event.”

If you have seen Sadi around the area, you likely have seen her with a camera in her hand as she is an aspiring photographer and when you see her work, you can see why and that she has a pretty good future in that field.

She takes anything from nature shot to individuals/families to events. Sadi had media credentials and was courtside at Rupp Arena this year for the Lyon County state championship. Sadi says she plans to pursue a degree in business and to own her own photography business.

Sadi added “I love photography. It is where I have complete control over what I do. In some cases, I get to be by myself and experience God’s nature, and in other cases, I get to tell a story that other people look at and enjoy. In each photo I take, I want to show emotion.”
