The Todd County Central softball team saw a three-game winning run come to an end with a 14-5 loss at Franklin-Simpson on Monday, finishing its 13th-District slate without a victory to slip to 11-13 overall.
The Lady Wildcats completed a season sweep of the Lady Rebels for their third win in the last four games. Franklin-Simpson moved its mark to 4-2 to earn the district’s second seed.
Franklin-Simpson pushed four runs across in each of the first two frames, including RBI singles by Rebecca Luttrell and Zori Stout.
Todd Central rallied for five runs in the top of the fifth, with Rylann Griggs and Naomi Welborn both doubling in runs and Averie Luckenbill adding an RBI single.
However, that was it on the offensive side for the Lady Rebels, and Franklin-Simpson answered with six runs over the final two innings for a comfortable win.
Stout led the way at the plate for the Lady Wildcats with three hits and three RBI, while also earning the win in the circle. Jasmine Grove finished 3/5, Hallie Boles had two hits and two runs driven in, and Luttrell added a pair of RBI.
Jocelyn Mock suffered the loss for Todd Central, allowing four runs, none earned, on a pair of hits with a walk. Welborn drove in three runs, and Naomi Gammon collected three hits.
Fort Campbell will visit Elkton on Thursday in Todd Central’s next outing. The Lady Rebels were 17-3 winners over the Lady Falcons back on March 19.
