It has long been one of the things in life, in addition to ‘death and taxes’, that you can count on. That thing being the Christian County Lady Colonels picking up a win on the softball diamond against the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons.

Since 2000, which is how far the records go back on the KHSAA softball site, the Christian County Lady Colonels have beaten the Lady Falcons every time they have played. In fact, going into Friday night, Fort Campbell had not scored more than a single run in any of those games and that had only happened four times.

The Lady Falcons led for a brief moment in the game in the first inning as they scored for the first time in the series since 2013. Amar’e Moore reached on a dropped third strike and advanced around the bases without the benefit of a Fort Campbell hit to put the Lady Falcons head 1-0 after half an inning.

But after that first half inning, it was all Christian County as the Lady Colonels scored 17 runs in just two at-bats to take the district win.

Gracie Harned and Jordan Turner combined to pitch a three-inning no-hitter for Christian County.

Christian County’s last loss to an 8th District opponent was back in March of 2015 when they dropped an 8-4 decision to University Heights.

The Lady Colonels improve to 17-12-1 on the season. Fort Campbell drops to 5-13.
